Volunteering and Work Experience

Volunteering is a great way to get workplace experience. It offers the chance to give something back to the community around you, while it also provides an opportunity to develop new skills.

Throughout Devon, there are lots of volunteering opportunities in care and health. These include roles such as drivers, befrienders, receptionists, bereavement and loss visitors, fundraisers and many more!

Work experience is unpaid short-term opportunities. It bridges the gap between education and the world of work. It can give insight to new aspirations, help inform career decisions and provides valuable experience to help enhance your CV.

Work placements are an opportunity to spend supervised time in a defined work area. You can gain an understanding and get practical experience of the duties and tasks in different workplaces.
