Tamara is an Associate Senior Care Worker at a residential care home. Find out more about why she loves working in the care sector.
Tamara knew a career in care was for her.
“I worked in substance abuse and mental health where I achieved a Level 3 in Health and Social Care. I then moved to my current position and have the opportunity to complete my Level 4 Adult Care Diploma.”
Tamara’s role as an Associate Senior Care Worker involves supervising care workers and supporting senior care workers in their role.
I have always enjoyed caring for others.
“I have always enjoyed caring for others and supporting individuals reach their full potential in daily living.
“I love being part of everyday life with the older generation, making sure I can help them get the most out of each day, helping people to be as independent as possible for as long as possible and ensuring they feel valued and respected as an individual. When it comes to the end of someone’s life, I am passionate that this is a dignified and comfortable time for them and do my upmost to support this with my colleagues.”
Tamara’s love for the role means she intends to continue to develop in her current position, working directly to support other care workers and residents.
